Port Blair, Mar 18: Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands successfully negotiated with Pondicherry University and ensured that the exams of students studying in Arts and Science Colleges of the Islands have the option of writing their exams in offline/online/blended mode.

Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the leadership of its Sate President, Mr. Ajoy Bairagi had earlier written a letter to the Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University and requested him to consider online exams for the students of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation it has created in the Islands. Mr. Ajoy Bairgi also spoke to the Vice Chancellor over phone and explained the unique situation of the students of the Islands.

Mr. Y Satya Kumar, National Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party and Prabhari, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands pursued the issue at the highest level and finally got the relief for students.

The offline mode of examinations as decided by the University was causing a lot of problems for the stu dents of the Islands as the students from far flung Islands were expected to travel to Port Blair and arrange for their accommodation at Port Blair.

The efforts of the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party has immensely benefitted the student community of the Islands. The efforts of Mr. Y Satya Kumar in helping the Islanders in need and taking their issues at the highest level has been lauded by the general public of the Islands.
